So, I've been restoring the interior on my 1985 GTV6, and when I removed the radio unit, behind it was this...."tube"... which looks like maybe it was meant to route radio wiring, but no wire run through it. Can anyone tell me what this is, or is this just some weird botch-job fix that one of the POs did? As you can see, it's just a mess of zip ties and wiring back there.

IF the right end of this duct goes (or went) to the right side eyeball vent in the dash, it may be part of the TropicAir addition on the 85 and 86 cars.

I worked this thru with Marco via e-mail with pix. As suspected, it was the Tropic-Aire plenum that attaches to the bottom of the lower A/C pan. The accordion tubes were missing on both sides, so it made no sense by itself. Mystery solved.
