We have a 06 Saab 9-3 2.0T.

Great handling fun car. We are not fanatics. But we have been very pleased with it. I would love to strip it down, get a computer upgrade, apply some hoosiers, and see what it would do. But alas, its the wife's for now.

Best Regards,

John M

i owned two 900S models. those were so classic. pretty damned dependable as well. but sweet-jesus were they expensive to repair. i especially loved the smart usability innovations that the car had. very Citroen.

My wife has a classic shape 900 Turbo, looks great in black with the aero body package. She loves it and having a hatchback makes it very handy for lugging stuff around. But it's crazy to put so much power through the front wheels.

I've owned several SAAB's. My all time favoriate was my '66 Monte Carlo. 850cc, 3 cyl, 3 carb, 2 cycle engine. That thing was a blast. My V-4 96 and my 99's (Triumph engine) were too mundane.

I've got a retired 900S Saab-story in my yard with 360k miles. Anyone want it?? I bought my girl several Saabs over the years for daily driver-commutor cars, she loved them. Good in the snow, comfortable. I finally had to get her a Jeep though, we live on a mountain!!

I have a 2004 9-5 Arc. Love it, but wish I had gotten one with a manual transmission and ventilated seats. As soon as a nice one with those options comes up for sale near me, I'll probably buy it. :)

Absolutely love the 9-5... bought mine as a Certified Pre-Owned from a Saab dealer for the huge warranty. It's the ultimate road trip car.

I have 95 164, 91 Alfa Spider, and an 81 Fiat Spider, but I have a 2002 saab 9-5 as my daily driver. I put almost a 100 miles per day on it. Nice ride. I'd like to trade up to an aero. These depreciate like crazy, so I'd never buy a new one.

any spider owners saab fanatics as well

just wondering.

i also own a 9-3 couple.
ABSOLUTLY- I had a '99EMS' (silver) and a standard '99' (pumpkin orange)
back in the 70's-switched to Volvos in 80's-switched to VW Jettas in 90's
Then to Buicks in the 00's [ all daily drivers ] PLEASE don't underestimate
the 'value' of a Buick as a 'daily driver/business' car @ 25K miles a year.
NOW looking at a Saab 9-3 for my wife ! Does this mean I've gone
full-circle?...Ed K.:)

No kidding! We have a 2003 9-5 Arc Wagon... brake rotors over $400; It's going in to the shop to have the leaking brake booster replaced... $900+ Friggin' new fangled modern electronic cars.

I agree on the depreciation. Retail new in 2003 it was $44k, we bought it used 18 months later for $22k.

Just out of the AF in 1972 I worked on Saabs. Loved the Sonnett as well as the 96's and 99's. Always wanted a 99 Wagon, but dang the prices of those are out of my reach. Parts for the tranny's are made of unobtanium from what I hear.
