Another Knowledgeable Spider Seller...NOT

I was at Watkins Glen a couple of weeks ago, and this fellow drove a gorgeous car to the concours. When asked to open the hood, he said he'd try. And he did try, but after a few frustrating minutes, he threw his hands up, turned to the bystander closest to him (who had never seen a car of that vintage ever) and said: "you do it - I don't know how!"

I guess some people have really never looked into their engine bay (or read a manual about their car).

Mayhaps he mistook '8v' in whatever literature that was quickly scanned through to mean '8 cylinders in a V', not '8 valves'.

Yeah, and probably looked into the engine bay, and thought: yep! - there's a row of four on each side of the block...

I think this is somebody who list and sells as a second party. They have little knowledge or interest in what thier trying to sell.

so whatever happened to the red series 3 Spider V8 project of BrockBR? couldn't be the same car could it.

Don't know about the project, but it can't be the same car... Note that the Spider on ebay still has its original exhaust end pipe, which points the gases toward the ground... And I would think that if a Spider had been fitted with a V8, the seller would want to advertise that extensively...

Nobody would like to see BrockBR start posting progress on his conversion project more than me but were more likely to see an E-bay listing for a "Slightly modified rolling chassis" first.

BrockBR ended up being unable to get around the steeringbox. wasnt that pretty much the kill to his project?

Guess the 8 cylinder thing might explain the 97.2% rating.
