eBay - 1974 GTV

Ok guys this one looks like it might be a great project car! From the images it looks like this car is one of those been sitting in a barn waiting for an owner deals. I emailed the owner and he said that he would be sending me more images of the motor and interior. He also said in his email "The interior is pretty clean. The biggest problem is the damage to the glass. The car runs and drives good". Right now the car is at a low price but she was just posted. Well se what it goes up to. I kind of want the car for myself for a project but since funds are low right now I'd like to see if someone on this board can scoop her up for the right price.

Just wondering from what year did the GTVs starting to have Quad headlights??
I dug through my JPG archives and found this '68 1750 GTV with four headlights and a smooth nose. Although the GT Jr's continued on with dual headlights and the step-nose for a few years.

This is my car before I bought it. I saw the picture and rushed to Santa Rosa to pick it up.

Asking price: 5,000
Dropped price: 3,400
Drove off: 3,200
Smile on my face: priceless

oh and it runs and has no rust! It's perfect! (knock on wood)

Holy crap, what a great deal! Good job Sniady!
Incidentally, my friend took a bus up to pick up the '74 GTV in Santa Cruz and drove it back.

He sounded a little disappointed with the amount of work needed. But he's working on her and will be reselling it soon. He's a business man. He makes fun of guys like me that fall in love with their Alfas. After owning 30+ Alfa's he's lost his lust. [/B]

I tried to get Simon to buy that GTV. How much was it purchased for? Must be decent if he drove it back home. What was the deal with the bondo on the side of the car? Was it hit? Oh and how much work does that GTV need? It looked clean from the pictures.

p.s. nice to know it went into good hands

That's the GTV that sold for $1825. "Leola" was her name. I didn't get a chance to talk to him too much about it. I'll have to visit him soon.

That's the thing, his good hands will be fixing her up and then he'll sell it for profit. Hopefully the next owner will cherish her. He laughs at sentimentalists (real word?) like me. Key word mental?

:(

Poor Leola
You should have been mine if I didn't mess up the time... and my friends didn't ask me out for lunch. My friend and I were packing up for the drive to Santa Cruz when I found out I messed up the time. I wouldn't believe my eyes when I saw it was already closed @ $1825

Kai? How much work did your friend put into it? And how much is he willing to sell it at this moment?? Any picture?
Well less than five months later it looks like my friend is selling "Leola", with no mention of her previous history.

Remember the $1825 deal he got? Well his auction is now up to $8500!! Told you he was good at turning a profit on Alfas. I'll bet the replaced parts will be up for auction within a few weeks.

I did forget to mention that this guy is good with his hands and probably did a good majority of the work himself.

I was looking at that auction and wondering - "Hmm... that car sure looks familiar..." :D

Hopefully someday my GTV will look like that too. Someday

Hey Alfa Chan, if you want to see a 105 bodied coupe, just check out the general's 64 Giulia Sprint GT. It is totally mint. I should add some interior shots as I just redid the interior in the fall. New York has a revitalized chapter and we are really rolling. One of our guys just picked up a beautiful 1750 from the Cayman Islands!!!!!!!! In addition to being a beautifully restored car, the engine compartment is undoubtedly the nicest restored bay I have ever seen!!!!
Oh, on the by and by, the general's GT can be seen in the photo gallery section of alfa bb.
Holy Crap! The auction ended at $9600!! I've never seen a '73 GTV go for that much on eBay.
1969 Green GT Jr. with 1750 engine

This GT Jr looks really really familiar to me.

Green, 1969, with a broken 1750 engine. Hmm....
I don't recall seeing this one before. But I have seen this guy selling other Alfas. He's got a GTV6 up for auction now.

Tell Anthony that this guy has a BMW "1602" (hahaha) up for auction now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6056&item=2417266791
thanks for that link! i emailed the seller. good car at good price, ca black plates too. i know mrkenny, he is kenny hudson, a car broker out here in los angeles. i helped him sell a couple cars a few times, maybe he can "hook me up" with a good deal on this one.
i don't like that black gtv. it's not a race car and not a street car, it's stuck in between.
I think I went to checkout this GTJr when the last owner was selling it. I might be wrong.
If this is the GT Jr that I looked at, it has a fresh cylinder head done by Santo's but the bottom end was broken.

I know the black car- is a rocket. He would have been in the front of his racing group if the car was vintage eligible.

Its more a custom time trial car. Very nicely done, and way fast.
