So, how would everyone feel about an electric Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto?

Here is a link to a recent article about e-Alfa Romeos.

Electric Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Models Are Coming: Report

This appears in the article:

"Another exciting opportunity for Alfa Romeo in the electric era will be the chance for the brand to revive nameplates from the past in a modern package. The Spider Duetto is one such model, and Imparato even told Autocar design work had progressed on realizing one. However, the potential launch of an electric Spider Duetto heavily depends on the market success of Alfa’s more mainstream models."

“I have the car; I’ve shown it to dealers,” Imparato explained. “But I would not dare to put that on the table to Carlos Tavares until I'm completely secure in terms of market share.”

Watcha think?

If Stellantis wants to recycle the "Duetto" name, I guess that's their right. It's no worse than Ford putting the "Mustang" name on an SUV.

When I saw the title of this post, I figured it was someone hacking up a 1960's era Duetto to turn it into a golf cart. Now that would be a travesty.

Wasn't the new Fiat 124 almost the new duetto?

Alfa is a brand of "almost" - The almost 8C that became the MC20 (gotta tell ya, that Dallara tub design sure is popular!) and the almost new duetto that became the 124.

“Alfa Romeo is not merely a make of automobile, it is truly something more than a conventionally built car. There are many automotive makes, among which Alfa Romeo stands apart. It is a kind of affliction, an enthusiasm for a means of transport. What it resists is definition. Its’ elements are like those of the human spirit which cannot be explained in logical terms. They are sensations, passions, things that have much more to do with a man’s heart than with his brain”.

Orazio Satta Puglia

And sensations are triggered by sensory inputs in us, such as feel, sight, and HEARING. There's more to sensations than just getting a shove in the small of your back. Hell, a government Prius I used to have to drive provided that.

Want your new Alfa to sound better, crank the Harmon-Kardon stereo up and play Pavoratti or run an F1 soundtrack on Bluetooth while you drive.

Yeah right.
I prefer Busso's oratorio per sei cilindri, thank you.
