There truly are Spiders that go for an extraordinary price (even more than what is being asked for this one), but those are concours competitive cars. In those cases, it is justified for those cars could not be reproduced even for the extraordinary asking price and it is quite a commitment, in time and money, to maintain a car at a high concours level throughout the years. The car advertised on craigslist is not one of them, as is very evident from the pictures. The car offered could be best described as an "unmolested driver", which is nice, but way under the asking price.

Best regards,
I'm sorry but 22k for spyder there is no way in hell i would pay over 12K for a concours "80's" spyder if this was a 70's gt OK but a spyder most common alfa ..lets be serious.now
we are all alfa lovers here but we have to be realistic, that kind of money will get you a porsche same vintage or vespaholics alfa now we're talking cars
vespaholic has a nice alfa...

for starters
quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyder:

Alternatively, a native Italian who has had no English influence in the pronunciation would pronounce "spyder" or "spider" as speeder. Thus a car labeled by an Italian car manufacturer as "Spyder" or "Spider" is intended to be simply a "speeder" or a sports car

second they have been 80's SPYDERS here on this site concours worthy for mid teens
I been around these cars and the SPYDER unless is a true duetto or early 70's
(1750) the 80's vintage,in this country, is not that rare.

only in the 40's that's funny Maserati just presented the Gran Sport SPYDER
I lived along time in Italy as a bodyman, and it is not uncommon to see the spelling spyder on cars /parts, now how this became an issue is beyond me.
all I said was that the particular car is not worth 22k and a concourse 80's vintage worth that kind of dough is questionable.
as tom gtv6 mentioned not all alfa's were created equal.
I am ending here before someone might not like how i spelled gran sport or something

VIVA LO SPYDER
