You are missing the crack pipe the guy's been smoking!
No, it's the 135 mph model. Oh, never mind, that pretty much indicates the owner is on crack..You are missing the crack pipe the guy's been smoking!
Hey, I resemble that remark! I'm BS, and I have *nothing* to do with the sale of this car!Puleeeze...
Through the force and will of his dynamic personality, he will save his family from financial ruin by selling the family heirloom on craigslist for an incredible amount of money using nothing but sheer will and BS.
There truly are Spiders that go for an extraordinary price (even more than what is being asked for this one), but those are concours competitive cars. In those cases, it is justified for those cars could not be reproduced even for the extraordinary asking price and it is quite a commitment, in time and money, to maintain a car at a high concours level throughout the years. The car advertised on craigslist is not one of them, as is very evident from the pictures. The car offered could be best described as an "unmolested driver", which is nice, but way under the asking price.I love Alfa's and some do have a $$ value but I would like a second set of eyes
to look at the following ad on craigslist and please let me knwo what I am missing

Best regards,
Well, it's pretty simple - just find one owner of a national concours competitive 80's Spider who is willing to sell it for $22k or less, or OTOH find someone who has bought a national concours competitive car for $22k or less within the last two years...I'm sorry but 22k for spyder there is no way in hell i would pay over 12K for a concours "80's" spyder if this was a 70's gt OK but a spyder most common alfa ..lets be serious.now
we are all alfa lovers here but we have to be realistic, that kind of money will get you a porsche same vintage or vespaholics alfa now we're talking cars
vespaholic has a nice alfa...
If you want to quote Wikipedia and believe that "Spyder" is the correct reference, that's your business...for starters
quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyder:
Alternatively, a native Italian who has had no English influence in the pronunciation would pronounce "spyder" or "spider" as speeder. Thus a car labeled by an Italian car manufacturer as "Spyder" or "Spider" is intended to be simply a "speeder" or a sports car
second they have been 80's SPYDERS here on this site concours worthy for mid teens
I been around these cars and the SPYDER unless is a true duetto or early 70's
(1750) the 80's vintage,in this country, is not that rare.
'Spyder' might ba 'a' correct spelling, but I don't think it's how Alfa spelled it. All of my manuals say 'Spider'.If you want to quote Wikipedia and believe that "Spyder" is the correct reference, that's your business...
If you have found concours competitive '80s Spiders on this BB for mid-teens, then just indicate one (just one) that has placed at a well-respected Concours, such as the national meet that took place this Aug 1 -5 in Detroit.
Best regards,
<snip>We are in full agreement that this particular car is way, way, overpriced. I do think that we don't agree on what a concours quality car is worth. There's nothing wrong with that. After all, in order for a car to establish it's worth there has to be a buyer.
