Do the coupe bumpers fit an Afetta sedan? Anyone know?

Thanks
. . . I had mine shipped via air post UK to ohio for 70$. . . .

Gawd, I GOT to hear how you managed that. I had mine shipped FedEx and after calling for a 'special' rate, it was between $200-$300. Their standard rate was over $400 IIRC. Heck, it's tough to send them cross country for that. Really, post, PM, or email if you will. I hope to buy a couple more things from the UK and would be much more inclined to do so if you had a 'magic bus' (or plane or . . .).
Thanks.
Gerry
I don;t know if stainless Alfetta bumpers will fit the sedan, but I do know that the front bumper does not fit the GTV6 without trimming the inside. GTV6 front bodywork is different (a little wider at the level of the bumper)

I was wrong about the shipping cost:

I had to look it up in my old emails. Purchase price: the bumpers cost me 46# each. Steering stalk switch was 22#.

For two stainless bumpers with mounts (and one black rubber block) and a steering column stalk shipped together via 72 hour fedex, shipping was 110#. This was shipped around december 28 2010 in mid holidays so I expect prices to be higher, but probably the same now with increased fuel costs.
$110 is still an awesome price. Less than half of my experience. Did you arrange it or did the breaker? There is the standard rates FedEx quotes on their website and then they list an 800 number for their 'special' rate. I called their 800 number and received a quote for about 2/3 standard, a rate I thought was a good deal at the time. This was a couple of years ago. Thanks for the info.
Breaker arranged it.

That's 110# or 176$ (today's conversion rate)

Dragline...when are we getting together??? I met with Italcarnut and 68duetto, cool guys and great Alfettas. the four of us need to have a little get together in two months or so!

Oh, is that what that # sign means? :p
Still a very good rate.

Seriously looking forward. Reality though is that there still is much to do (install interior, exhaust leak, carb adjust, etc.) and my honey-do list is (and has been) maxed out. We know what comes first in most households. I haven't had a chance to wrench since December (hanging head in shame):(
At this rate, Red won't be roadworthy till June. Could meet up with you all in Blackie(F150) though.:p [/QUOTE]
I'm in the same boat. Driveshaft guibos and bearings, second gear synchro, exhaust, leaky radiator, mount bumpers....
Just had a Euro GTV6 bumper shipped from the UK last week for 48 pounds. Arrived in seven days.
Sweet Deal! LUCKY FIND!

Do you know "Racingswim"? I lived in Plymouth Mi a few yrs back. Maybe you would like to join us for late spring/early summer NE ohio meet?

pm me if interested.

Rob is my nephew. Perhaps you've also been to my father's place in Poland, OH for his fall BBQ...

I just hope someone doesn't happen to post their experience where they had shipped two twinsparks from the UK to the US in a boxed pallet for 27£ and 39pence as I just might have to find a building to jump from. :p

OK, that was supposed to be funny but . . .
So, that's an awesome rate, fiatosca, was that FedEx as well? Any hints/suggestions you'd care to share. Are rates less today than what they were 2 years ago (when my bumpers were shipped)? If anthing, with the current crude oil prices one would expect the rates to be the same or maybe a bit more.

I would just love to work out some of these lower rates that you gents seem to be snagging. Good on you.
Wait:
Racingswim, Fiatosca, Dragline, and Youngstown person all related somehow??

I'm confused? but I think I get it now...I know some of the above indirectly and directly and have heard some describe the others...but maybe I will have it all straight by the fall!

It's all coming together now.......

Cheers, x

Nope, not me. Haven't had the pleasure of meeting/talking with fiatosca and don't know the Youngstown Alfisti.
A link for the Ohio Alfa folks in the crowd...

Thanks Dragline! I am still planning for an off the cuff early summer get together and you are welcome to join! I will send out some emails late may.

Thanks Fiatosca! ;)
