Currently rebuilding the front end suspension and having trouble getting the torsion bars out of the rear support. I took the bars and the rear support off the car so I could put in press to separate. I wanted to confirm if the torsion bars can be pulled out in either direction or if they only come out in one direction before adding too much pressure.
thanks.

Excellent, thank you.
They are original and have been in car for 40+ years so this should be fun.

Worst case I have experienced was on the Milano. Cut the bars off in front of the mount and drilled a hole through the remainder. then used a Gr8 bolt and sockets and heat to pull the remains out the front. Of course the Milano does not have a removable cross member so all of this was under the car! Torching the bottom of the car makes you pretty nervous.

Hope that yours goes more smoothly! Happy TG

Wow, hopefully it goes a little smoother, I can’t imagine dealing with these while under the car!
Thanks!
