Thought I'd scan a few pics from the collection while watching the 24 from Daytona.

No, I wish I knew who the photographer was. They were given to me by the caretaker of a very large archive in Southern California.

Do you have any more ready to scan? That photographer was quite a talent. It's probably a subjective area, but the photo of the #22 Tipo 33 is one of the finest shots I've seen of any racing car in action. Wonderful. :)

Could I have a high-resolution scan when you find the time?!

I am from Broomal PA. I hung around with people from Newtown Square. Penske had a shop there years ago, we would catch Mark Donohue having lunch every now and then. Those images are wonderful!!!!!

Don,

Just wondering if you've had the chance to contact the copyright holder regarding the photo of the #22 car? As I mentioned in my email to you, this would be strictly for my own personal use and there would be no question of making reproductions in any form.

I'll keep my fingers crossed ... :)

Thanks,

Alex.

`68 Daytona

The race that year was a great one for the Alfas. In college at the time, my my wife in our Alfa & friends in their Porsche 356 would make Daytona or Sebring every year. That was the year I decided to go racing with the Duetto, and that summer it began! 40 years & still obsessed with Alfas.

The pic of the Alfa in the Hairpin at Daytona was taken in 2001 the pic in the Garage in 2002.

Richard, do you have more pics of your GTV6? Did you feel the car was competitive? ( I heard you won Nat's in GT2, but was the road much longer than you anticipated?)

I feel the 116 with out major modifications is pretty limited (heavy, lack of track). What do you think? We could take this to another thread if this is too O/T!

Daytona

Richard:

What are your thoughts about running up on the banking? I've
heard it get's bumpy and you have to run bigger springs due
to the compression of the suspension?

Thanks!

Don, those are some of the best pics I have seen in a long time. Great photography!!! Love the one of Donahue. I have some pics of him in the Sonoco monster at Riverside. Also of Donahue and Peter Revson at first IROC. I'll try to find them, but they will look like a 5 year old took them next to yours.
