Hello all, I'm new in this forum.

I'm in the market for a spider, probably a series 2 or series 3. This would be my first Alfa Romeo. I haven't owned an old car for too long, and the masochist in me is demanding something Italian.

Besides what I've managed to read up on, I'm not familiar with these cars, so I would like to have any potential purchase checked out by a local specialist first.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I saw this ad, which looked promising. I will be going to look at it at some point. Has anyone come across this car or know its history?

Hi and welcome to AlfaBB.

There are no Alfa gurus around anymore in the Lower Mainland. As it doesn't make much sense to drive your car to place an hour or so away just to have it serviced, you may want to find someone relatively close to your home. Let us know where you live and maybe we can point you in a direction.

I don't know anything about this specific car in question, so it may be worthwhile to ask the owner who serviced the car and talk to that shop.

So far I've found Rick, who's a retired fellow and works out of his garage. I've spoken to him on the phone but I haven't dropped by yet. I will PM you his Email.

There's also Bernie in Mission, he runs a shop called Bent Wrenches.

There's a couple of other shops I've found on Google searches, including Leah's in North Vancouver and Milo's in Vancouver (Kingsway), but I have no experience with them.

All of these shops seem to be hit and miss. I know both happy and unhappy customers they have. Of course, it depends on the car, too (model and condition) and what problems it may have.
