Hi,
Have muddled up two sets of 24v 3.0 164 camshafts, one set from an auto and one set from manual.
Is there any way to identify these from their numbers or design? Not every camshaft has a full part number on it.
Numbers include:
568568
559318 or 659318 (hard to read)
605593
A987

Anyone got any ideas?

Both A/T and manual 24v 164 cams the same. Rear head exhaust cam has a cam angle sensor wheel on it. Which one of your numbers has that CAS wheel on it? eper sez 60568567 is rear head exhaust cam which should have CAS timing wheel.
(60)568568 Intake cam DS (right hand) rear head according to eper.
559318 or 659318 (hard to read)
05593
A987

N° P.N. Description Features Mod. Q. Notes Col.
1 60568568 CAMSHAFT (DS) 01 INTAKE
1 60568567 CAMSHAFT (DS) 01 EXHAUST
1 60568569 CAMSHAFT (SN) 01 INTAKE
1 60559317 CAMSHAFT (SN) 01 EXHAUST

Many thanks, Steve.
Will double check the numbers against the ones you have given.
Slight chance some 12v camshafts might have slipped into the mix - hope not.
Will post finding tomorrow.
Cheers.

12v cams should have externally threaded ends for acorn nuts to hold cam pulley hubs on whereas 24v cams have internal threads for cam pulley bolts.
