On the sunroof, pop the light unit out of the overhead consul. There's 2 hidden tabs on the rear right side and forward left. You'll see the motor for the sunroof and on the end of the shaft a slot for a screw driver that can be used to manually close it.

Hi all, trying to tension my alternator belt, but I can't seem to get the alternator to move up to tension it. I have loosened the 3 securing screws, except the bottom one closest to the belt seems to not be backing out/getting loose. I've tried a pry bar on a few different spots and alternator stays right in place. It seems that the whole bracket has to move with the alternator if I am looking at it correctly. Any advice?

Bottom fourth bolt has a 13mm nut on other end near bottom of dip stick housing. Hold nut with wrench/socket and loosen head of bolt.

Thanks Steve, I figured that there was something on the other side, but kind of brushed it off thinking "Alfa wouldn't put a bolt like that right beside the headers." I was wrong!

Well guys I'm back at it again. This time trying to figure out what feels like an intermittent misfiring issue. I'm going to check the plugs and wires first, but do you all have any recommendations for stuff to check?

Plugs condition proper gap 0.025", wires 2.5k ohms resistance, dizzy cap for cracks/corroded terminals and good spring loaded carbon button and rotor resistance 1k, plus coil wire resistance 1.1K and coil tower for corrosion.

Check injector connectors/ terminal pins for corrosion, too.

Sadly the alfa digest domain seems to have gone away. But if you Google wayback machine and copy the digest links into it then you can find the referenced documents. Just had to do this to do a refresher on pulling cel codes.

How unlucky am I? I have my L listed for sale and the other day I went to start it up and I got a nice steady plume of white smoke for a bit. Smoke didn't smell like antifreeze, nor did it really smell like oil. Anyways, it was cold and rainy but I think I've seen the valve stem seals rear their ugly head. I can't sell the car under the condition that I have it listed in because I need to figure out what the hell caused that smoke. I'll start her up tomorrow and see if it's a consistent cold start problem.

164 12v distributor seals

Correct shaft seal and oring for 164 12v distributor
00605005160000 dist shaft seal $15.01

00605005120000 dist body seal $3.51

Sizes: http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/7343641-post135.html

Believe it or not I found a new 60500516 shaft seal in the 93L under the driver's seat month ago at Pick-N=Pull, but no part number on the cardboard sealer pack.

I found my spare dizzy parts this morning with part numbers on package boards.

I have the 60500512 dizzy body seals, too.

As you can see shaft seal OD is about 28mm (1 18") and o-ring about 40mm (1 13/16").

Prices are from ARI-Orlando but they don't have shaft seal in stock.
