I have this airbox which has an aluminium insert to reduce the opening times of the airbox.

The intake for the airbox is 66mm whereas the inner diameter of the snout is 100mm.

Anyone familiar with ratio’s for these diameter? I am using a single plug 1750 engine with 45DCOE14’s and roughly 170HP. Should I change the airbox or leave it this way?

Grazie mille

Interesting - but I would guess the reduction was only implemented afterwards, to fit some kind of Airfilter in front of the Airbox.

That’s correct! I’d like to use it with the original snout and like to know what would be the optimum diameter of the airbox itself?

I would suggest to take out the extra part, connect the to parts with a hose as initially intended. The is no Too much air. In the end you will have to test your setup with an AFR Tester To find the right jets.
