91 Spider had a great motor that I felt like building up later but currently has a bad head gasket gooshing oil.
The 87 spider has an all around great running and non leaking motor.
Dilemma: 91 has different pulleys and accessories than the earlier fuel injected Alfa Spider such as my 87.
Trying to figure out what problems I might run into if I do this swap other than the little sensor angled on the bottom right side of the crank shaft pulley..which measures the ??

I would think you would miss the extra compression in the Motronic motor on the '91.

There are other mechanical differences as well and I don't know what the '91 ECU would make of them.

Well essentially I plan to swap just the block and head. All of the later stuff will go on the earlier motor. So it should be the same thing. It will have the motronic motor and everything.

I would think that swapping the engines and trying to install all the Motronic bits onto an L-jet engine would be more work than simply fixing the head gasket on the Motronic engine. (but I am not paid to think...)
