I want to adjust how far my throttle plates open with the pedal depressed all the way to the floor. (I'm making sure the throttle plates are perfectly open.) I've noticed there is a stop under the gas pedal. It's all the way screwed in. So to make the throttle open even further, do I just adjust one of the threaded adjusters in the linkage? Is there any negative to this? I assume that afterwards there will still be enough play for the lingage to return all the way back to the idle stop...

First, ensure that the mat/carpet is not getting in the way. Yes, a little bit of tweaking on the rod length can help. Just be aware that the linkage, at idle, does not touch the brakeline by the brakeline junction on the right lower bulkhead. I'd also check the rod ends for wear/loosness and replace as necessary. The bellcranks have been known to wear as well. I've had to remove the pedalstop locknut on a few cars which will give about 10mm more travel.
