It affixes to the shroud proper, more toward the edge that surrounds the fan blades, nowhere near the shroud to rad mounting bolts.
A spook about with the search engine here and in the AC subsection down at the bottom of the forum may reveal better pictures than what I linked to of the sensor correctly installed.
