Did not find this in the search field so I will post. Anyone out there know how to remove the chrome trim pieces off of a 164? I have a 95. The right bumper portion was "rubbed" in a parking lot and I want to safely remove and straighten out. My "manual" does not go into mention these parts.

Thanks

First of all, I think they are polished aluminum. Wish they were chromed steel. This make them difficult to rework. I had to buy new ones from DiFatta.

You can remove the door side strips by sliding them back off of clips on the doors. I'm not sure about the ones which are on the front and rear bumpers. Looks like you have to remove that little clip covering the junction of the rear side pieces and the center bumper section, and then slide that rear side piece aft off the fender clips to remove. That's what I would try anyway. The little trim piece at the front of that side piece just pops out from the removed strip I think. I don't remember having any trouble with that.
