I recently acquired a 94 164 LS a/t car but the transmission is shot. I’m not really an a/t guy so I have a 91 164 5speed Car that is a basket case but the drive line is great. I know people have done he swap but not for sure if swapping the transmission from the 91 12v into the 94 24v is possible. Does anyone know if the 12v and 24v manul trans is the same? And if they aren’t will it work? Any advice on this would be appreciated.

I have done the swap before on a 91L using a 91S trans. I'm currently in the same situation but i have a 95Q 5 speed and i want to put it in my 93 automatic. I have all the parts for the swap because i parted the 95 about a year ago.

It can be done pretty easily. But I would not use a 164L trans, you need an S trans for a 24V.

If you're looking to do a manual swap for your auto I have a pedal set and maybe some shifter arms etc...
95' trans will fit fine in 93 using 24V clutch kit, clutch slave.

All this can be done. Automatics from 94 up cannot be used on early but who wants an auto anyway?? haha
