Looking for a used 91-93 164 security system remote. Any from a totaled 91-93 164? Decided to resurrect the alarm on my 91S, and need a remote for my wife to use, otherwise she will disown me, lol. Thanks

If you can't find an original you can try one of the generic Remocon units. I bought one on Ebay, programmed it using my original factory remote and it has worked wonderfully. The range is even a bit better.

Still looking for an Alfa unit, but will probably give up and buy the Remocon unit.

I have 2 different types of alfa remotes. I recently purchased a storage locker from Alfa service center that closed down and it included a bunch of 164 parts.

I have 3 black remotes part #00606-11768-0000, alfa emblem in black with a red led

also 2 gray remotes part #00605-59421-0000 alfa emblem in full colour with a red led.

The remote I'd like to duplicate is all black, dimensions 2 1/8 x 1 3/8 x 1/2 inch.

If you open one of these, the insides (back side of the circuit board) should look like as shown in the TSB 40.95.02, as seen in the TSB section of the 164 Digest web site. There should be a small label with a code such as AxxxBxxx.

Is for a 91-93. Pics would work.

That one shown in the picture is for the 94-95 infrared system. Nuts, that won't work.

The 91-93 remote is a little larger, more rectangular, as I described above.
