Hi all,

unfortunatly I can't get Simon Moores 8C Book to south America.
Could someone be so kind, to give me the chassis numbers of the following 8C 2300, which showed up in the net, to complete my list?

First Touring Spiders

Thanks in advance
Jorg

Can't identify them all quickly and easily but ...

I'm afraid that I've made no attempt to track these cars in recent times. Even so, I can identify the following cars relatively easily. Eight of the photos that were shared by Odin have been shrunk a bit and labelled by file name and by using "Paint". Here is a batch of four.

And another four ... with a couple of caveats

I am not certain of the identity of the Graber-bodied car but it seems to be the only one that might be available in Graber form to be shown at the time.

The "Pinin Farina" coupe should have the chassis number of a car that was or is unknown today ... but the identity of which was offered a few years ago as a very rough chassis with paperwork by someone who was known at the time to have been building a Monza from facsimile parts. It could be "genuine" (if not related to the chassis & paperwork sale) or perhaps a nice recreation of the original car on some original parts. I simply do not know.

"872 UXE" - 2211080, complicated thing, google this s/n for details
"AGN 868" - 2211055 with engine 2111021, something not mentioned in Moore`s
"MPG 690" - 2211066
"L48-007" - 2111015
Monza #18 - 2111046 freshly restored

found more unidentified cars.
Hope, that there will be sometimes a page for pre-war Alfas, like you can find for Bugattis and Vintage Bentleys.

Thank you very much.

There is another #2211080 Touring Spider and it looks different from 872 UXE,
and there is a LM using #2311222.
This one is 2211088 (not 2211080), well known mostly original Touring spyder.
S/n 2311222 has very long and complicated story and changes bodyworks at least three times. Dark blue LM-style body made by Bob Smith Coachworks fitted in 2004.

I have a question for #2111018.
It was a modified car, by Joseph Figoni as 2+2 seater, for Raymond Sommer and driven in Le Mans, 1932, by Sommer-Chinetti and 1933, by Sommer-Nuvolari.
Now it's reapeard as Zagato Spider. Same car, or I mixed it up?

Regards
Jorg

1. 2311248
2. 2211104 ??? There`s no history in Moore`s book on this chassis after 1936, but license numbers "YG 7523" and "GE 14692" matches with this s/n. Bodywork looks very Gristy.
3. 2311236 Brianza tourer
4. 2211136 http://www.dlgeorgecoachworksltd.com/Press/Atcl/VintageMotorsport.Nov2002.bbMonza.pdf
5. 2211118 another complicated case

Sommer-Nuvolari car at 1933 Le Mans (#11) was 2211109 with the same body modifications as 2111018.
New Zagato-style body for 018 made by Dino Cognolato in 1990`s.

I don't know if this is the best place to post this, if it's not please tell where I should post it then :)

I'm trying to find good recent pictures of the Alfa Romeo Le Mans Winners, but I'm having a hard time identifying all the cars. And I'm not even sure I've got the names and coachbuilders correct. I hope some of you might be of help here :)

This is a period photo of Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 LM Tourer (or is it called Spyder?) by Zagato 2111005 (1931 Le Mans Winner) 1931

And I think this is how 2111005 looks like today:

Is this 2111005 as well? There are some differences compared to the car above...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a period photo of Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 LM Spyder by Figoni 2111018 (1932 Le Mans Winner) 1931

And this is 2111018 in recent times, but with a Zagato Spyder body made in the nineties

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a period photo of Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 MM by Figoni 2211109 (1933 Le Mans Winner) 1933

I don't have a recent photo of 2211109. When I google the chassis number I get this: Zagato Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Spyder #2211109
It's saying that 2211109 was the 1933 Mille Miglia winner :?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These is are period photo's of Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 LM Spyder 2311249 (1934 Le Mans Winner) 1934. I don't know who's responsible for the coachwork.
