Got a 87 Spider Veloce.
The front of the rear view mirrors is painted in the body colour
The Base and outher ring is painted black.
I want to take the mirror apart for painting.
HOW DO I SEPARATE THE FRONT METAL PART from the mirror ?

THANKS
Marc

P.S.
My center console (the one with the handbrake) is supposed to be attached with two bolts to the middle console (the one with the clock and heating controls)
The two bolts are missing,.
Just went to Lowes and got me some M5 and M6 bolts.
The M6's are slightly too big, the M5's are too small.
Any idea on the size of these bolts?

Thanks again!

Hi Marc:

I think the front cap is just a friction fit into the mirror frame.

Sorry I don't know about the console bolts. I've had the console out of my '87, but never had to replace any of the bolts. Believe it, or not, there are actually M5.5 fasteners, although I can't say if that's what you need.

I have found that the Tru-Value Hardware stores have a much larger selection of metric fasteners than Lowes or Home Depot. They also carry a larger selection of the out of the ordinary fasteners as well.
