I am the proud new owner of an '87 Spider Veloce. The car runs great but there is a warning beep that has been coming on but with no warning light or indicator. It stops if the car is on an incline with the nose up. Very annoying. On the up side, I can barely hear it at 65mph with the top down.
Any help or insight to possible solutions to this random warning beep would be great

Beep or buzz?

The 'warning chimes' buzz at a high frequency.
One is activated when the key is turned on and the seatbelt is unhooked, the other is activated when the key is on and the door is ajar.

The seatbelt has a lamp associated with it while the door ajar doesn't.

For the former, you'd want to inspect the seatbelt buckle switch and wiring, though by your description I'd hazard its the latter with the issue actually being a loose connection shorting out in the door switch or wire, or, the ignition switch has something about ready to go all wompyjawed on you.

*Query: does your keyring have more than mabe 4 keys on it, + perhaps a fob, leash, strap or other object that adds weight onto the bundle of keys as a whole?

Extra weight is extra stress and is well known to wreck ignition switches prematurely.

If it's truly a 'beep', bob only knows because it ain't nuthin' that came with the car originally.
