While I am chasing an electrical circuit drawing .25 amps, I thought about replacing the radio. How does one get the old one out?

Pull off the radio knobs. Unscrew the nuts

Yours should be a single din unit. It would have come with 2 tools to remove the radio. Here is a picture of the tools and the instructions for removal.
You can use 2 small screwdrivers to release the tabs if you don't have the removal tools.

One advantage of buying from the original owner who kept everything. You end up with all these things.
He even had the original note pad, Alfa pen, and Alfa branded Rand McNally Atlas that came in the owners manual folio.

have you narrowed the drain down to the radio?

you need to say which model radio...better still a photo.
There are all sorts of tools for the different models.

for instance this type of Blaupunkt with two little holes each side, would use the tool that looks like a piece of coathanger, bent in a in U form

yet my later model Blaupunkt uses flat keys.

I don't see the small holes you and others are referring to....One member suggested taking off the nuts on the timing &
volume knobs, and I will try that. I think the radio is on fire # 5, and after removing it, I still show .26 amps on meter.

10 days ago, you said you were going to pull one fuse at a time to find the draw.....
so what happened, none of the pulled fuses get rid of the draw?

Well, finally, I think that on one of the pulls I heard a clicking noise from the power mirrors toggle area. I a couple of weeks ago followed the video on this forum to try to perform the illustrated functions to get the power mirrors to work.
Sothen I pulled fuse # 4 and my multi meter showed no current draw, although I notice a small spark when connecting back the negative battery post. This may be the radio memory. So, if I cut the red wire going to the power mirrors toggle assembly, wouldn't that take care of the current draw of .25 amps? I'm content to just leave the mirrors in their present setting & get on with other issues. Chief Bre

I did not get any tools to remove the Blaupunkt Radio, and there are no holes in the radio that I can see to remove it.
Loosening the nuts did not work, as I can't pull the knobs off, nor can I see any nuts behind the knob to pull.

Using a multi meter to check draw, doesn't work for me as well as using a "test light". Dom's post #4 is correct. Some radios have a different lock that can be disengaged with something akin to sliding a cut-off hack saw blade along the side. Post an image of what you have. You could remove a console side panel and unplug everything, one at a time, to help diagnose your draw. Also, unplug your clock.

I'll try to send a pic of the radio, but I'm not good at it. I tried to get the side panels off the console, but no luck. It seems I would need to unbolt the console with the 2 bolts inside under the shift lever. The clock is long gone also.
