Hey everyone! I am new to the board and posted the other day but wasn't aware of the pic rule so thought I would give an update with some pics! In my quest to resurrect our 85 Spider I came across a project 84 Spider for sale. I bought the car with the intention of using parts for my other Spider but come to find out it is in great shape and I have currently turned my attention to restoring it first. I purchased the car from a certified Alfa mechanic who had been restoring the car but just didn't have the time anymore. He had replaced the entire engine with a low mileage used engine due to the original having a cracked head. I also have the old engine too. The car has been sitting for about 3-4 years but the engine still runs great. I will be doing a complete tuneup (L-jet page!) soon. Has a slight rough idle but the 4 year old gas isn't helping either. Now, on to the inteior. The complete interior had been stripped to allow restoration. I had all the parts but they were definitely not in the car. I was able this wknd to get about 95% of interior installed. After sifting through miles of wiring and removing corrosion electrical connections, most of the interior accessories are now functioning! Here are the first few pics from how I received the car and then the progress of installing the interior. I will post more pics of a few other cars in our collection too.

Someone painted the original rims black! HORRIBLE! I will be sandblasting them and restoring to original!

That is impressive. It's hard for me to imagine that kind of progress over a weekend. I bought an '85 last year and haven't accomplished as much. Good luck with the rest of your project.
