Ok, so I have to replace my alternator on my 84 Spider. I removed it with no issues, but before I get too involved with a big hammer and various other tools, I am looking for a tried and true way to remove the nut and pulley so I don't inflict any unneeded damage... :)

Any assistance is appreciated, as always!

Thanks,
Les

Airgun (impact) to remove the nut. Washer, pulley, fan and spacer will then just slide off. Reverse to install.

If you don't have air impact you should be able to take it to an auto electrical shop and pay them to remove the nut/pulley assembly and replace it on your new alternator. Will take them all of 3 minutes.

Thanks, my trustworthy electric 1/2 impact wrench worked wonders. I didn't realize it was just keyed. Seen some shows where on some alternators you actually have to heat the pulley and use a puller to remove the pulley off the shafts, but this was really easy.
