I have replaced my fuel pump and the fuel filter has me confused. I ordered the appropriate filter from reputable Alfa parts suppliers and it does not fit. My guess is that even though my Alfa is a 79 it has an older style filter. The body of the filter is about 3 1/2 inches long but the ports are about 1/2 inches in diameter. I say about because I don't have calipers to measure it. The only markings of the filter is 7M and the arrow for fuel flow.
See the picture 20210424_121956.jpg .
Should I replace it with the WIX 33299 filter or is there something better. Thanks all.

Replace it with the wix/Napa 33299. It’s a great filter, easy to get and 10 micron, also with 1/2” in and out

Yes, the WIX 33299 works. Note that it will not have the bend in the pipe and its a little shorter than the original so you may have to use new longer hoses to make it all work.
