Hello All,
First the simple question:
Are the air filters for the 79 Spider designed to be rinsed out. The metal screen around them makes me wonder.

The bigger question:
The vacuum adjusted butterfly at the intake of the filter canister seems out of wack. I see the rod from the diaphragm. It is next to a tab on the butterfly plate. But, because the diaphragm casing can spin in its holder the little foot on the rod doesn't stay lined up with the tab.
Should I figure out how to fix this. How important is this choke? Is it something that can be removed, or is it critical to find a new filter canister lid with choke assembly?
I drive the car in San Diego weather.
Thank you for any input.
