I have owned the spider since 1980. It was last driven in 87. I pickled the engine and it turns over fine. I am replacing all fuel lines and pumps and new fuel. New pointless distributor etc. My concern is the oil pressure. I put in Valvoline Racing oil for the added zinc.(no cat). I turned the engine over with the plugs removed and the oil filler cap off. I did not see any oil spitting out of the filler opening. Does it take more revs for this to happen or might I have an oil pump problem? Thanks

If you spin the engine on the starter you should see an indication on the oil pressure gauge after about 20 seconds. The oil pressure warning light should also turn off.

I re-did the sending unit connections. The oil warning light went out and the guage showed pressure with only a few cranks.
