I decided to replace the ignition switch in my '74 GTV.
The original switch has some features I didn't pay extra for.
The car cuts off intermittently.
Turn the key and there is sometimes a delay before the starter turns over.
I only have one key as well.
Battery and alternator are new.
Aside from unplugging the battery and making a map of which wires go to which terminals,
does anyone have any advice on this?
Centerline mentions some rewiring may be required on their website.
Thanks!

Does anyone know what the two small black wires do?
I crawled under the dash and one is disconnected and the other one disappears into a bundle of wires.
The new switch, left in the picture, does not have connections for them at all.
Thanks!

Fired the old one, installed the new one.
Big difference!
Very precise action compared to the old one.
The old one would hesitate sometimes when starting and
the car would shut off from time to time like it just forgot what it was doing.
It was worn out, obviously.
Thanks all for the input.
