Hi all.

Question about my brake booster on my 74 GTV.

I just put in a new master cylinder, pads, and braided steel lines on my car. One issue that has been happening since before the work still remains. The first time I step on the brake pedal of the day, it kind of clunks. After that, it doesnt, till the next morning. The brakes are working fine, just wondering whether anyone has run into this before? Brake booster issue? Should I be worried?

Thanks!

A clunk when you initially apply your brakes is an indication that a part is loose, then drawn tight when your caliper pistons push against the rotors. Typically it is an indicator that a caliper is loose.

Sometimes it can be pads clunking. They have a small amount of movement. If the pad backing plate or the part of the caliper or pin that retains them is worn, it'll clunk. but for sure go over it, and maybe check front wheel bearings too.
