I think that agree to purchase the car but ask you to put funds somewhere ... can't remember now, but I've had this game played with me when I was trying to sell a motorcycle. Something about working on an oil tanker ...

A 1967 Duetto racecar since 1972. Purchased in 2002 from Mike Besic with all documentation. Last raced in 1980 in the Northeast by Bill Lightfoot. Current owner has spent liberally including driveline rebuilds by Alfas Unlimited, soda blast and rotisserie restoration. All new NASCAR- style driver protection cage without looking hideous. All Suspension and Braking bits redone or replaced. Many Autodelta, Ward and Dean and Shankle systems restored. Three sets of wheels, a '71 Spyder Parts-Car complete with 1750 with Webers, and good trans. A street runner until an Oak fell on it.. Single car trailer and a literal ton of spare transmissions, engine blocks, heads, liners, pistons, ring and pinions etc. Owner retiring following spinal surgery. Car needs paint and final assembly. Much documentation and photos from '73 to today. Much more. [email protected]. Go vintage racing. Choose your color.

More Photos. Did I mention that the 0 time 1750 Shankle engine, complete with dyno sheets, was freshened by Alfas Unlimited, as well as the close ratio GTA gearbox. ? Original Autodelta sliding block rear. I think this could be a very valuable car when complete.

I do have a '72 Spider parts car, if the top mechanism is of any use to you. The car presently is snowbound so it may take a few weeks before I can access it. Let me know if the parts you need are interchangable. I don't think that section of the Spider Kamm tail is substantially different than the Duetto. Let me know. I'd be glad to help.

The car is fitted with Autodelta's substitute for a Panhard bar, the sliding block. A block located on the back of the diff slides vertically in a slot, locating the rear end latterally. In the photos, the aluminum Autodelta fixture which bolts to the chassis is not mounted. The fixture, as well as the rear anti roll bar and shocks can be seen in the attached photo.

This is WAY before final assembly. Just the accumulation of parts as part of the restoration. It will all be buttoned up before the car hits the track. Lots more to do. Just showing the level of prep, going forward.
