Hi,
Just bought this beautiful 2-owner car in Madrid. Had a wonderful 500km drive home in very high temperatures and it performed beautifully.
Yesterday I noticed that the Oil Temp gauge was no longer registering despite taking her for a decent 1-hour run. I have checked the wiring behind the instrument which all looks good. I wonder if someone can just tell me where the sender unit is located on the block/sump so I can check that this is correct too before starting on a more complicated investigation.
Thanks guys,
Jim.

It is on the bottom rear of the sump. The3 wire may have come off the sender.
It is quite normal for the temperature to take a very long time to warm up enough to show on the gauge.
and quite normal for 50 year old gauges to be inaccurate......

Thank you both. Just had a look under the car and can see a loose cable. Will get underneath and sort that out later.
I know the oil temp is the least important of the gauges, but it is nice to have everything working.
Regards,
Jim.
