I fried the 2 port replacement pump on my 78 Spider (battery hooked up backwards). The box of assorted parts that the car came with included an original 3 port fuel pump. It bench tests fine so I was gonna try it before buying a new L-tronic type fuel pump. but I don't know which ports are which.

My guess is:
S-"supply" from the tank
D-"delivery" to the engine
R-"return" to tank/PRV

Hi there, at the top of this sub forum there are some sticky spica threads, this one, called technical guides has one called fuel supply diagnostics which will answer your questions. With pictures. I believe you are correct though.

I have those guides...on closer look the picture of the 3 port pump does indeed show the hose arrangement. thanks :)
