I'm sure I once saw a photo of a 33 with a 2L drivetrain (late 145). Has anyone seen that article and know where I can download it? It was a TwinSpark motor with its gearbox, I know the 'fake' firewall was cut away. Ring any bells people??

Any help appreciated

There is nothing really in common with the old sud,33,sprint and the 145,146 except the badge and the fact that Alfa mounted a boxer into the later ones. The 145,146 is based on the Tipo platform as many other Fiats and a few other Alfas. So you could look for an engine/gbox from any type of car since the amount of work needed to fit an inline engine is massive. Fun though. ;)

Again, the such modifications to the 33/sud seem to me a complete waste of time because such a conversion messes with the vehicle's balance. The biggest thing going for the sud/33 is the low mounted boxer engine hence a very low CoG. Driving a 164 in comparison is enormously top heavy and it is absolutely nothing like driving a 33 around corners. Installing a V6 or inline 4 is going to ruin that experience in the 33/sud! Yes, more power is nice, but these cars just do not need huge increases to be fun. I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Spend your money on moderate power increases/engine uprating and handling/brake upgrades. You WILL give WRX's and Skylines a run for their money :)
