Rebuilding (my first time) the transmission from my 74 spider. The trans was drained and stored for years. The gears have a little surface rust here and there (no pits) and it wipes off with a rag with little evidence it was ever there. My question is.....Are the gears OK, and can I trust the bearings. The trans looks to have just been rebuilt before it was stored and bearing surfaces look great. Thanks, Steve

As long as there is no pitting, you are good to go!

Make sure to use the right oil in there. Redline is what I have qand it certainly helps with the grinding of my tired 2nd gear.
