Looks a decent car, but never original paint.

black painted engine bay simply never happened....well, unless the car was black.
plus (always a tell tale of a respray) those little blocks above the bumper are always black rubber, never color coded.

It’s a fairly comprehensive respray if it was.

If anything I’d be inclined to say the engine bay was blacked out for some reason, the yellow looks very well done, it’s everywhere you’d expect it to be (except the bay and rear trunk hinges).

In anycase I’d be wanting to see pictures underneath and all the usual rust traps.
Also, those hoses need replacing, I’d hate to see the state of the fuel lines

Canary Yellow AR 119 is listed as an Alfa Romeo paint color from 1971 - 1986.

I cannot recall that I have seen an '85 Spider in that color, however.

If that is the case, maybe it is the original paint as the seller mentioned.

Thanks

well original color code is one thing (there is a couple of S3s on google in that yellow, so that is fine)
but you cannot advertise it as "all original paint"

From here I can spot overspray (and masking off) in several specific areas!

photo inside trunk is not good enough to read the paint code tag;)

Yes, you can see overspray under the hood.

Also, the front bumper and grille are not straight, suggesting that there was front end damage at one time - likely some paintwork there.

The seats appear to have yellow stitching ...

But the engineers who designed the inlet system on these moderner Nords needs to be shot with balls of their own poo. God that is one ugly, hoses randomly everywhere looking thing ...

I wouldn't blame the engineers so much as emissions requirements and small budgets to conform to them.
