This was a really good car. It runs really good even with 142XXX miles on her. No second gear grind. Bosch Fuel injection. New exhaust, new alternator, everything works, power windows, clock, cigarette lighter, heat.

Probably a pretty simple pull on a frame machine. I did similar at the Votech school after my 84 had been rear ended. Quarters pulled nearly straight (probably will need some secondary work here though). Looks like you have a lot of effort in the rockers - shame to lose all that. Must have been a pretty bad day - sorry.

It was a horrible day! I'm still researching the situation and quite honestly, it depends on who I talk to about the damage I'll get a different response. In my opion anything mechanical can be fixed and it basically comes down to $$$

Not quite 9k.. I paid 3k for the car and maybe another 2k in all the new body panels I replaced and misc. parts,, new exhaust, alternator, etc. But to me 5k is a lot of money and who know what I'll find after I get it back up the hill..

Well, I suppose it could be but I’m having a hard time finding a competent shop in my area. I had hoped that a friend’s shop in upstate NY might be able to help out but that didn’t pan out.

Sorry we couldn’t make something work. It looks like you’ve invested quite a bit of time and money into it prior to the accident. Perhaps parting it out would net you more than trying to sell it as-is?

It wasn't that hard replacing panels and the inner and outer rockers. This was my first attempt at and body work. But I've been a welder for over 30 years.

Unfortunately I don't have a clue fit that can be pulled out and replace what ever needs to be replaced and still keep the integrity of the structure.

I did buy another 1989 spider last week and it's being delivered later this week. But if my 82 can be pulled out I would like to have that done because it ran and shifted so good.

I replaced 10 panels 5 on each side and both inner rockers and both the inner and outer lower rear valances. It took about 3-4 weeks.give or take.
because of waiting on body parts.

so yes I have a lot of $$ and labor invested in vested
