I just had to share this photo of my new (to me) Spiders brakes. All the other rotors look salvagable, but this one seems to need a bit more attention.

Is that the ultra rare, ultra lightweight racing version? So light, its like its not even there. Thats a little scary. You might want to replace that before you drive it.

New rotor on Saturday

Santo of Santo's Italian Car Service has replacment rotors in stock. Saturday I pick up the rebuilt starter and alternator from them. And it looks like I'll be getting a full set of brake pads, and at least 1 brake rotor.

Vice grip repair

There is one other discovery I made on this car...



Great roadside repair, but for corn sakes, eventually get around to using an e-z-out and replace the broken bolt!

This is not a put-on. My son and I found it this way. Got a free vice grip in the deal! Its kind of scorched though.

You've got a full-floating rotor there. Real race parts. None of this half-arsed "semi-floating" rotor stuff.

And an adjustable-tension exhaust clamp! And I thought a V-band clamp was the ultimate in cool race parts.
