1976 Spider with Spica Issues

I've read sooo many threads about Spica and reference to 'Wes Ingram's Spica Manual" but have not found how to get it, buy it, or download it. Can someone please let me know how to obtain it?

My Alfa background – had a 1976 Spider originally from NY. Rust got the best of it and parted it out last year. Became a donor for my other 76 Spider, all original, no rust, 67k miles, mint condition (pictures coming), but has Spica issues. I have one of the best Alfa mechanics at my disposal (Bob Hine) and he has done a lot of great work for me but he is very busy and $$.

So I would like to learn how the Spica ticks and to save some dough. In a nutshell, I have a very low idle (3-4k rpm) cold start and hot- no change. Doesn’t stall, but close. Runs good over 2k rpm. I’ve tested T/A to specs, but the pump stop seems much greater than .019 “ and the long arm seems way out of whack after several blind adjustments. I'm thinking it needs adjustments to spec.

Thx - Jim

Jim - PM me if you'd like some Spica tech material, tuneup guide, etc. I suspect that your system is grossly out of tune.
google Wes Ingram and you'll find his site and his book plus lots of good information
Thanks, but i went to his site and found nothing about buying manuals.. perhaps I didn't look far enough. Will check again.

Check the price list and you will find this entry....

Spica tuneup and diagnostic Manual $30.00

Hope this helps.

Also, the SPICA Technical manual (edited by DiMatteo and Hertzman) is available through AROC-USA.
Don't know if you have but just in case you haven't go to the "Carburetors & Fuel Injection " thread and the top two stickies have some great info on the SPICA system.
Thanks everyone, for the great information and to John Stewart (Roadtrip) for the Spica manuals. Last night I determined the Spica is way out of whack with the use of the Tune-Up guide and am taking this Friday off from work to get it correct.
