With stock cams it makes peak power at a little over 5000 rpm so there is little point in revving it above 6000 to stay in the power band. In my experience a stock motor can be safely revved to 7000 rpm provided that you don't hold it there for very long. 7000 rpm shifts are fine but it only makes sense with a modified motor that makes peak power at over 6000 rpm.
