1972 ALFA ROMEO BERLINA 2000 (ECC-024)

Offered at $21,995

This 1972 Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000 comes to us from Italy after having been in long term storage for 30+ years. It comes from a retired Italian Alfa dealer who kept the best trade-ins for his personal collection. With only 12K original miles - all original - this Berlina has a lot of life left to enjoy.

The paint is the original Burgundy and the interior has been redone. The body is straight and rust free. The interior is a classic design with artful wood trim, white faced instruments and tasteful chrome accents. Very comfortable and supportive front buckets with a roomy back seat and large, practical trunk. This car is ready to enjoy as a daily driver or weekend joy ride. Very collectable and likely to appreciate in value if preserved.

The car was inspected by our specialists in Italy and anything needed was taken care of.

After delivery to the US, we again checked it over and all is in excellent working order.

Runs with vigor, shifts clean and sharp, handles with snap, and just sounds beautiful.

Designed by the legendary Georgette Giugiaro for Bertone, the Berlina was developed as an executive saloon with a roomier body than the previous Giulia models, but retaining the lively handling and sporty performance expected of an Italian sport sedan. The Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000 was produced between 1971 and 1977. An upgrade to the previous Berlina 1750, in the 2000 the engine was bored and stroked out to 1,962 cc. A different grill, head and tail lamps also distinguish the 2000 from 1750.

With two Weber carburetors, this 2 litre Twin Cam produces 130 hp. Top speed is 200 km/h (124 mph) and 0-100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration under 9 seconds. In USA versions this engine was equipped with mechanical fuel injection, but the euro version Webers are generally felt to be easier to tune and less costly to maintain. Gearbox is the slick shifting Alfa 5-speed manual. Brakes are 4-wheel discs with twin boosters for outstanding feel and stopping power. A very comfortable ride is mated to excellent handling.

The Berlina is one sweet sedan and the 2000 carb version considered to be the most exciting version. This is a real fun car to drive, very practical to own and one of the best sports sedans ever designed. An excellent choice for chic style, driving enjoyment and a long term relationship.

EURO CLASSIX CARS -- Driven by Passion

Specializing in Classic Italian Cars as Only the Passionate Can

We don't sell cars. We sell history, nostalgia and style. We sell the classic Italian cars of yesteryear to an audience as passionate and enthusiastic as we are. If you love the Alfa Romeos, Fiats and Lancias of old as much as we do, take a look at the beauties we offer. . .or let us know if you're in search of a particular car. We're always looking--we just might find it!

We tap into our extensive network to scour Italy, hunting through old barns and garages, to find these vintage Italian cars. Once we find a treasure, it's shipped to our warehouse location in Northern Italy where a specialist with 40 years' experience meticulously reviews the car and reconditions anything that is not as it should be. This precious cargo is then shipped to the U.S. in small numbers, to our San Francisco location.

This is not strictly business for us -- we have daytime jobs. This is love. We are not your typical car dealers. We are the real deal, men with such enthusiasm for these classic Italian cars that we're going to great lengths to find and preserve them. Why? Because these cars are as familiar to us as our childhoods. Our passion for these cars knows no bounds. We seek them out. We hunt them down. We lovingly recondition them. Our goal is to offer the best authentic, original classic Italian cars, and to build a network of car enthusiasts like us across the globe.
