Hello fellow Alfisti,

Due to recent family expansion and pending house move I am reluctantly selling my stepnose. This 1970 GT Junior 1300 is a gray market car and was brought into the country by the previous owner. During his ownership it was used as a train station car in Fairfield County Connecticut through the 80’s and 90’s before my father and I bought it to restore in the early 2000’s.

The car had typical New England 105 rocker and some floor rust but was very straight and had never been in an accident. The car was the perfect candidate for my childhood vision of a modified GTV, and what you see in the pictures is as far as we got. The metal, body work, and paint was completed by Tim Cotrofeld of Cotrofeld Automotive of VT/NY. The balanced and rebuilt 2.0 and rebuilt 5 speed were done by formula Atlantic Driver and engineer John Stow of CT.

The car has some uniqueness due to the fact that it is a 1970, yet still retains the iconic stepnose front. It came from the factory with a 1750 dash and console. However, this unique late junior’s 1300 engine is long gone and this is not a car for the individual that wants to go back to its original state. In my opinion, although unique, not the car to return to stock but that will be for the new owner to determine.

A little background on my direction with the car. I live within an hour of Lime Rock Park, Palmer Motorsports Park, and Thompson. My plan engine-wise was to have a very competent road/track car that paid homage to the GTA (My favorite) but be competent enough to run all day on the track and still drive home. Body treatment-wise the car has new door skins with the GTA push button lock hardware, as well as the GTA lower valance treatment complete with center grill on the nose. The car was originally silver, but the goal was to do something different and I fell in love with the Bluette on a Berlina that my father and I saw when I was younger, so that is the color that this car sports today.

The car currently sits with driveline and interior waiting to go back in (Engine with less than 500 miles on rebuild was removed to paint engine compartment). As you can see from the parts pictures there is about 1.5 cars worth of parts. A full 1.75 worth of the original Junior style interior. 3 front and rear windshields? I believe a complete 2.0 gtv interior and everything in between all goes with the car. The parts stash plus the engine and trans all go with the car. I may also have a big valve sperry 2.0 head and second 2.0 motor and trans that could go with the car for an additional cost.

This car is not for the purest, but if you're a purest you will be looking for an all original 64 sprint, or maybe a 68/69 1750... The paint and body are not concourse and were modified to my desire, but are more than appropriate for cars and coffee/track daily driver. Please give me a ring or email if you are interested in coming to see the car.

Firewall stamped number AR 1249096. Car will come with CT Q1 Bill of Sale form, as CT does not issue titles for cars over 20 years old. I do have a copy of the previous CT title that will go to next owner.
