Great scenes of HI...paradise!
Love that car... did a GI bring it there?

Does HI still require 14 days quarantine in your hotel for tourists?!
Daughter lives there. It's really like a foreign country: exotic scenery, exotic climate, i go there and most Americans are a minority, and it's easier to get to Europe than our 50th State!

Likely brought in by a service member being a German market car.

i think if you take a test first you can skip the quarantine. the car came from southern california i believe
All the badging on the trunk indicates a 1969, U.S. delivery model with Spica Fuel Injection.
A 1969 U.S. delivery car should have seats with headrests. This car does not.
Side marker lights are not correct for 1969 U.S. model.
Maybe the trunk lid was replaced with one from another car from 1969 ?

It’s a ‘67 German market Duetto with an US 551 1750 Spica block. Likely the same car the trunk lid came from.

that is an interesting theory
I just realized that I could see the car on ebay.
The car has VERY RARE original Creme colored Vinyl Upholstered Door panels.
You can see that the "Stitching" of the door panels is actually embossed, not stitched. Definitely FACTORY ORIGINAL.
Can't really tell if the seats are original or re-upholstered. If original ..... they are VERY RARE.
Only about 1 out of 250 of the Duettos came with those light Creme colored vinyl seats and door panels.
If you look in the parts books from that era, you can see that the Duetto interiors were available in several different colors but the "Creme" or Beige is very rarely seen.
Probably a lot more common in Europe.
A dealer in Oak Park , Illinois ( "West Suburban Autos" ) , ordered and sold several cars of different exterior colors , with that Creme colored interior.
1967 and 1969 models.
I saw them there in 1967 through 1970 . Gray, Dark Blue, White, Ivory and Red Duettos with the Creme Interior.
If the seats are original and in decent shape, that interior is almost irreplaceable.

Looking closely again, it is obvious that all the carpeting has been replaced. Carpeting was never available in the light creme color.
Only the transmission tunnel should be carpeted. Believe it or not, that transmission tunnel carpeting was available in Red.
Floors should have Black Rubber Floor Mats.
All the dashboard coverings, Shifter sleeve and Emergency Brake sleeve are also redone. Those were always Black.
Color of the seat upholstery looks a little darker than the door panels.
Probably only the door panels are original.
Still ..... they are very rarely seen.
Please excuse me for going on about these almost irrelevant details. I'm nuts for these little things concerning Duettos.

All info gathered through your listing. Not a theory…
