Wow, This is an old post. The car belonged to my brother who has since passed. We were selling the property and I tried to get him to move it; he never did so it went with the property. I don't know what happened to the car; probably crushed years ago.

Wow, $250 for straight roundtail rear sheetmetal and $300 for a complete 1600 engine. Definitely not 2021 prices!

Today you'd bundle it with a nonfungible token, put it on BaT, and sell it for at least 1.6 bitcoin. :D

John, somehow I managed to miss out on the date of the post, a consequence of reading on the smartphone. I should have noticed something is wrong, sorry for being such a cheapo. At least we now know how the story went, thanks for sharing. WS.

Story to this car:

My father, Merritt Carden, regularly serviced this car back in the day. It was owned by a woman with striking good looks who really took care of the car. She was driving home on highway 17 (now 880 in NorCal) at night and fell asleep at the wheel after working a double shift. She hit an overpass embankment; she survived the crash but was extensively scarred. She kept the car for a number of years hoping to have it put back together but that never happened. It would have been nice to have the parts pass on to other cars but I don't think that happened either.
