A very special one- competed successfully in the 1969 edition of the Daytona 24 hr. race. Fully documented and in excellent condition please find all the details at classicalfas.com Contact me directly with any comments or questions, thank-you, Fred
Great find, I have some entry lists from the sixty's and will revisit them to see if Toly raced it at Sebring that year.
I'm blown away. There were some local guys that raced Alfa's back then: Dr. Wilbur "King" Pickett, Guido Levitto,
who owned the San Remo restaurant a popular hang out during speed weeks, as well as a few other non alfa guys
Bill Cannons, Bill Bean. I'm sure I'm forgetting some but I will let you know what I find. This just made my afternoon.
Happy for you
Still available. Here’s the section about it in Toly’s book. Why have an ordinary SS when you can have this one with it’s fascinating history. (full tongue in cheek comment-all Sprint Speciales are special cars)
This is probably the same S.S. that I used to see on display at PSA in Atlanta, somewhere between 28 and 40 years ago. It is probably one of the few Alfas to complete the 24 hour race (Lol). I think the car belonged to Atlanta club member, Charlie Weber -way back then.
You might be wise to heed Toly's retrospective advice "don't sell car".
Thank-you Mark I believe you’re correct. I am selling the car on behalf of the owners who are simply not using it as much as it deserves. They’ve been great custodians but there’s always a time which means opportunity for someone else. Thanks again, Fred
Second owner of this California/Bay area car! Red exterior with camel interior.
For those interested I will be continuously updating this ad with pictures and more details!
My aim is to be forthright and honest about this vehicle as no Alfa this age is perfect!
I have a brand new, beautifully sewn correct red wool carpet set from Italy for a 101 Giulietta Spider. Elvezio made. Still in the wrapper. PM me for photos if interested. If you are in the lower 48, I'll save you the shipping from Italy. $350 shipped to you.
Just wanted to let you know that I have a nice 1992 Alfa Spider up for sale at no reserve on Bring a Trailer. No Reserve: 1992 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce
It ends on Memorial Day, Monday May 25th at 12:40 PST. It will be selling as it's a no reserve! This is a very clean car...
Hello everyone anybody selling a project spider in Chicagoland area? The 164 doesn’t need any work done so I’m looking for a project. Let me know. It’s been a few years since I owned a spider and always have an itch for one!
