I think we all need a much needed winding road drive with nothing else to worry about, Pete.
Can't even do that in NZ, police will stop and fine us. Only permitted to drive to doctors or supermarket.

I'll go and weld something :)

I am running Vredestein 175 14's on our '85 spider. I like the light steering feel and ride. She sits somewhat high, but the nature of the beast

how does lowering the suspension reduce scraping?
Hey David!

I can take a stab at your question. Sure, lowering an Alfa won't reduce its susceptibility to scrape. But removing the sump guard certainly will; the guard really reduces ground clearance. Of course, if you DO hit a bump without a sump guard, you risk fracturing the pan. I have no guard on my Sprint and so far, haven't had any problems.

Hope you are staying sane in these crazy times.

A note from Northern Nevada.

We have all been advised to stay at home, and/avoid crowds. However, this being America, and Nevada to boot, there is no form of martial law. At least yet.

So, I can drive about the largely empty roads, including Lovely Lake Tahoe. I can pull out my plane and go site seeing. In fact, since the casinos have all been closed, the FAA has deactivated the Las Vegas control tower, meaning I do not require anyone’s permission to land there. Not that I have any desire to go there.

A friend of mine who lives in LV took a walk this morning with her husband, and sent me this picture. I noted that the only thing missing were the tumble weeds, Don Johnson, and a telepathic dog.

Reference the picture above:
I could see a lot of "Movie Production Companies" going around to the large cites
and filming all the empty main streets as stock footage for future "end of the world"
films.

NB: don't blame me for going off topic. I'm just joining in. ;)

No Joke! I read that there's a $1000 find for ignoring Social Distancing rules in New York! I did a double take and it's true.

We live in what country?

Actually, in the best and worst of times, we’re a country that drops the gloves and gets serious.

This happens by the people, not to the people. Those that resist give texture to the discussion, which is a good thing.

I choose to live in Nevada. We are not being fined. There are people that chose to live in NY. Their elected representatives are carrying out the will of those that elected them.

And everyone lived happily ever after.

So you're okay with somebody getting too close to a family member of yours and causing their deaths?

This is bigger than politics. The best thing I've heard is to live and act as though you have the virus and protect everybody else from you by your actions

Once this is over we can return to petty politics :)

Safety first is always a general rule, especially in a worldwide pandemic. Funny how this works, some of us get it with little or no symptoms others die.

I'm interested in hanging around for a while

Hi Jay -

I hope you're doing well, too. All things must pass, and this destruction will end, also.

Now and then I wish the Very Stable Genius hadn't made such a enormous catastrophe of what was a big problem to start with. I'm out of work and concerned my remaining working years will be in a self-inflicted depression. Some countries responded quickly, with timely and comprehensive testing, and haven't chosen to liquidate their economies.

And I hope things get better for you soon, David.

Ignored years of warnings. Threw away 2.5 months after everybody saw it coming. No federal leadership, no coordination, blames Obama and governors. Refuses all responsibility. Denies science and get his input from Fox News, Giuliani, and Kushner.

Oh yeah, perfect - just ask him.

I just picked up one Falken Azenis in 195/60/14 to check for fit/appearance -anyone else running this size on a S3 Spider (1983) Stock profile was 70. Dealer America's Tire tells me they cannot get a 70 -
I got the same size on my ‘83 spider - stock 5 pointed star mags

Back when the legendary Yokohama AVSi was still around, I ran 205/60/14 (Panasports wheels) on my '69 GTV with its full Ward & Dean suspension. Worked great! No issues whatsoever. Sadly, impossible to get high quality performance tires for the street in 14" sizes these days. Will move on to the GTA 15" replica wheels in order to upgrade my rubber.
