Saw this on Hemmings. A planter. Not certain what model it is, not for the faint of heart.

Looks a little bit like a 6C 2500. However, keep in mind Alfas were reserved for the rich at that time, and it was common for them to special order cars with different configurations, so in short terms you might not be able to find an exact match as for what model this is. Great looking car even after years of abuse

Agree it's a 6C 2500 Series, looks much like a Freccia D'Oro or Golden Arrow, but as 82alfatan says, lots of custom coachwork out there at that time - John de Boer will probably give you the body number & the missing chassis number & most of the history from new, his archives are amazing

Agree, not for the faint of heart

This is an image from a roadside relic book that was published many years back (I recognize the plywood). I've always wondered is the photographers just captured the image and left the car in situ, or if they were the "as found" images for someone's restoration project.

Based on the protruding fromt bumpers and the fact that the car doesn't have to have rear quarter windows, I tend to believe that this is one of the very few 1946-47 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Carrozzeria Touring coupés (the predecessor of the Aerlux and Villa d'Este models), as shown on p.238-239 of Vol. 1 of the Morlacchi-Salvetti 6C 2300 - 2500 book (picture below), p.254-255 of the Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni/Anselmi Carrozzeria Touring book and p.255-257 of Giovanni Felice Bianchi Anderloni's Carrozzeria Touring book.

That car is not a Freccia D'Oro. The double blade front bumpers look like many of the Touring bodied 6c2500, like this one for example:

But there are some features, such as the low side windows, that do not match.

The car in this photo - The exotic life of Count Trossi’s Alfa Romeo 6C-2500 | Classic & Sports Car - happens to be a car that was saved from the Michel Dovaz abandoned collection and restored.

This looks very similar - I would say it's the same car, but it is a cabriolet.

Poor thing has a C1 Corvette dashboard. The left hand steering tells me it was deeply transformed.

In the first photo, I was wondering if it has a hard top.

The Corvette dashboard reminds me of a Freccia D'Oro I saw here parked on the street ca. 1980. Bolt-on steel wheels, left hand drive, swapped dashboard as well, and a center console with floor selector for a Powerglide. Obviously the thing was an Alfa body on a GM frame. Another member had once seen it, years before, stalled on the side of the road. It allowed him to see the Blue Flame six under the hood. Good match for the Powerglide.

If you're wondering, the thing was eventually destroyed by a fire. The local owner of another Freccia D'Oro bought the remains.

This other Pininfarina cabriolet shows that the side windows are not lower than the windshield.

Other than the top, it is clearly the same body style as our mystery car.

On the top photo, I cannot see a steering wheel on the right. Another sign that it could be the car in the Beverly Hills ad.

Yes on 4th look I do also wonder that. Can see a line along C pillar (or would that be B pillar?)

The first photo appears to show a flatter centre grill than the for sale photo ... ??
