Let´s paint!

The body is getting ready for primer and paint! Did I say in the end the decision fell on Blu Olandese? Only a couple of months left now....
I visited the Techno Classica in Essen last week. Very inspirational indeed.

original CMR wheels back from restoration

The original 14 x 5.5 steel wheels are now bck from the specialist. The car had only 1 of its orginal rims when I bought it, so I found the 4 I was missing from a guy in Switzerland. All 5 wheels will be shod with vintage style tires in the form of Pirelli Cinturato´s 185/70 14. I believe this was a period option to the 165´s fitted as standard.

engine almost finnished now

With new pistons, bearings etc, the engine is in final assembly. Going for green ignition leads of course, as per original spec on my car.

calipers are also ready now

Calipers are also ready now. I posted before my intentions to fit Pirelli Cinturato´s, but changed my mind after having read some on the subject. In the end, the decision fell on the 165s and not the 185s. Standard and original spec. And I think also a little less grip, which is fun! :smile2:

coupon service book

An original coupon service book goes onto the wishlist. I have the original owners manual, the jack and a toolkit including pouch. In the toolkit is missing still the box spanner. Anyone? As far as I know, these are now the only 2 items missing.
The carpets to both boot (rubber ) and coupé ( grey synthetic wool with jute backing ) are now on order from Italy.

The Pirelli Cinturato´s are now on the rims.

Car is now painted, and most parts restored. Now assembly!

And now planning to drive to Italy in October:wink2:

Thank you for the pictures! I think that is for a much newer car. I think it was printed in 1989.
Yes, way too new for your car. I think the one you want will look like the one pictured below. I can't recall seeing one from 1968, so this is sort of a guess. If you want the correct one, you'll need to know where your car was first sold. These came in Italian, French, German and English.

Yes! Thats the one I am looking for. My car was sold new in Sweden, which means the one I need should be in english, same as the original manual that I have!

And the service network directory should be the one correctly identified by steve105 earlier in this post. The box spanner in the toolkit is still eluding me. 19x21 mm is a very odd size it seems.
Your car is a 69 model year. For some reason, I had a senior moment. If your car was made in 1968, it probably would have had a Guide to Service Network book like Steve's. But, if it was made in 1969, it would have had a different one. Do you know the production date?

The coupon book in the picture is dated 4/69 and is the second printing. The Guide to Service Network in the second picture is also date 4/1969.

These might be more appropriate for your car.
