I just got my hands on a used 1750 long block. Its going into my 71 GTV

can someone please tell me about my engine number?

AR* 0000551*06089

Look in the History section for the PDFs of Fusi's production number, but an 00551 is a US market 1750, probably mid 1969 from the serial. But check Fusi for ranges. If you have the front cover with block, should have a Spica pad.

For the engine block, nothing really. The 69 US cars had a different Spica pump, intake manifold, and airbox from the 71 cars, but I don't think there's any difference on the block itself.

Lowest 1971 engine I show on the Berlina Register is 00551*06221* for a 1971-MY car built in 7/70.

My 69 Spider came with 00551*03405*, built 1/70. So the end of 69 and beginning of 71 was somewhere in that range, could be narrowed more closely with some research work.
